Pay Transparency Readiness Pathway

Developing a clear plan that delivers business value

We offer a focused two-week process with the team at Merities Consulting to set you up for pay transparency success.

Do you have a pay transparency problem?

Tick those that apply:

☐  Are you confident in your preparations for the EU Pay Transparency Directive?

☐  Can you assure the executive leadership that employee queries will be minimal?

☐  Is your implementation approach well organised, and progressing?

☐  Do your recruitment and pay practices stand up to scrutiny?

☐  Do you have the right job architecture and pay governance structures in place?

What you receive:

1. An independent assessment of your readiness

An expert review of the areas which matter the most under the Directive, identifying where you are well prepared and where your biggest risks lie.

2. A prioritised implementation roadmap

A practical action plan showing what to tackle first, what can wait and where responsibility should sit across HR, reward and the wider business. It will also look for opportunities to minimise workload for the longer-term.

3. Executive confidence

A leadership briefing which gives decision-makers a shared understanding of the current position and a clear basis for planning next steps.

Pricing:

CHF 8,450 covers up to three countries, where a centralised approach is predominantly used.

For organisations operating in more than three countries or using a less centralised approach, please contact us for a tailored quotation.

Deliverables:

Readiness scorecard

Based on your existing reward policies, relevant HR documentation, interviews with key team members and review of the planned pay transparency implementation approach, we provide a structured assessment of your organisation against our Four-Pillar Pay Transparency Model. This will highlight strengths, risks and implementation gaps.

Implementation roadmap

A prioritised plan showing where effort should be focused immediately, in the near term and what can wait. In addition to recommended sequencing it will also cover ownership and dependencies.

Executive briefing

A facilitated discussion of the findings with your leadership team helping to build consensus on priorities and next steps.

How the process works:

Preparation

Your organisation:

Complete a short questionnaire about your existing reward policies and planned approach to implementing Pay Transparency and current challenges and priorities you would like us to understand.

Share your relevant documents. We have included a checklist of documents to help you identify the information that will give us the clearest picture of your current position.

Merities:

We review your responses and documentation, combining them with our expertise and the Pay Transparency Success Model™ to build an understanding of your organisation's current level of readiness, identify strengths and potential risks, and tailor the discussions to your priorities.

Week 1 - Discovery

Workshop 1: Understanding your current state

We meet with your project team to validate our initial findings, explore your existing pay practices, and understand your priorities, objectives and available resources.

Workshop 2: Leadership perspective

We meet with a senior business leader to understand the strategic priorities, organisational context and leadership expectations for pay transparency.

Week 2 – Report and Briefing

Workshop 3: Review of findings

We present the initial findings, walk you through your readiness scorecard and roadmap, and discuss the recommendations to ensure they are practical, relevant and aligned with your organisation's priorities.

Final report

We refine the recommendations following the workshop and provide your final report, including your readiness assessment, key findings and prioritised roadmap.

Leadership briefing

We present the key insights from your Pay Transparency Success Model™ Readiness Pathway, highlighting the most important opportunities, risks and recommended next steps. This briefing can be scheduled separately if preferred.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@merities.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The time commitment depends on the size and complexity of your organisation. In most cases, you should allow time to complete the pre-assessment questionnaire, gather the requested documentation, attend the workshops, and review the findings. We aim to keep the process as efficient as possible while ensuring we gain a thorough understanding of your organisation.

No. The assessment is based on the questionnaire, the documentation you provide, and discussions with the agreed project team and senior leadership representatives. We do not undertake any pay equity calculations. If you would like a detailed pay equity analysis, we would be pleased to discuss these services separately.

We recommend involving those who are responsible for, or have knowledge of, your organisation's reward practices and pay transparency activities. This may include representatives from HR, Reward, People, Legal, Employee Relations or senior leadership, depending on your organisational structure.

Yes. The Readiness Pathway is often the first step in a broader pay transparency journey. Merities Consulting also supports organisations with the design and implementation of pay transparency programmes, pay governance, reward frameworks, manager capability, communications, change management, and other areas related to pay transparency and reward.

Before the assessment begins, you'll be asked to complete a short questionnaire and provide relevant documentation using our checklist. This enables us to tailor the workshops and recommendations to your organisation and make the best use of everyone's time.

Depending on availability, there’s usually a 2-5 week wait time before Week 1 work starts. However,  gathering the documentation can be undertaken in the interim.

Please contact us at info@merities.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
